P4

(Long Shot)

The use of lighting in these shots is to create a serious atmosphere due to the dark tone of the image in both the lack of lighting in the left of the image and the dark clothes that the subject in the image is wearing.
Low key lighting in this shot is used to emphasise the genre of this film along with the use of dark colours in the clothing, the lighting helps to emphasise the tone that the poster is giving.

(Mid Shot)

The use of placing the subject like this is to make him look as if he is staring towards something we do not know about making the subject and the film more mysterious and intriguing to the audience. It is also a good way to project light off part of the subjects face so he does not look too bright but still fits the genre of the film.
Instead of using high key lighting to show and upbeat film, I am using it to bring out the characters facial expression and makes his face easier to see so the audience can instantly know who is starring in the film.
(Extreme Long Shot ELS)
The use of this shot was to make the subjects seem as if he was looking over into the distance as he would be placed on top of a building like he was looking for something.
I decided against this image because We could not see the face of the actor so it would be harder to catch the attention of those who merely glance at the poster whereas if it had the actor up at the front face showing, people would be able to see from a distance and would instantly recognise the actor and show interest towards the film.
